A burning desire for success plants success consciousness. This vigorous and ever-increasing desire is the “Secret To success.”.
– Fahim Lashkaria –
We all want to know the secret of success. But how many of us have found and applied it. Why is it so that everyone doesn’t succeed?
Have you heard the old saying, “Necessity is the mother of invention.” Similarly, a burning desire is the mother of success.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Amitabh Bachan, Shahrukh Khan, Usain Bolt, and lot more were those who had a burning desire that drove them to where they are today.
I don’t call burning desire the motivational force because motivation is short-lived. I call it the inspirational force that drives you forward and makes you capable of handling obstacles.
If you don’t have that desire then you are less likely to leave your bed and move forward to do anything.
It pushes us to get what aspires to achieve and provides the strength to stay long enough into the fight.
It breeds passion, enthusiasm, and turns your ability into an excellent power because you will do a normal thing with maximum efforts.
Let me share with you a story that will help us understand what is the secret to success. The way this story explains the importance is really interesting.
Story – Secret To Success
Do you know Socrates?
Socrates was a Greek philosopher who laid the groundwork for the western systems of logic and philosophy. He was also the teacher of another two famous philosophers of the history Plato and Aristotle.
There was a young man in Greece. Socrates was pretty famous and this young man visited him to learn from him.
Once the young man asked Socrates, what is the secret to success. Socrates patiently listened to the man’s question.
Socrates told to the young man to meet him next morning at the bank of the river and he will answer his question over there.
The next day, both of them met at the bank of the river. Socrates held the hand of the man and told him to walk with him inside the river.
They walked until the water reached their neck and Socrates stopped. Surprisingly, Socrates held his head and ducked him into the water.
The young man was struggling hard to come out but Socrates held him strong. And did not leave the man until he started turning blue due to drowning. Then, Socrates pulled the man out of the water and the man took a deep breath.
“What was the most needed thing when you were under the water?” Socrates asked the young man.
The young man replied neutralizing his breath.“Air.”
The reply Socrates gave was astonishing:
“This is the answer to your question. If you want success just as you wanted the air while you were drowning then you will surely get it. A burning desire is the starting point of all accomplishments. Just like a small fire cannot give much heat, a weak desire cannot produce great results. There is no other secret to success. ”
A burning desire states how committed you are to achieving your goals. This burning desire drives you through and so we call such people “driven”.
Now the question is how to keep the desire burning?
If you feel that your goals are important enough, then you will anyhow have no choice but to move forward even though it seems hard initially.
Everything starts with the mind. So, reprogram your subconscious mind. Put the seed into your mind, water it every day, or multiple times a day. Make it intense or say it out loud to yourself.
Push your limits. Without action it is nothing. You will stay where you are if you don’t do that. Denzel Washington said it perfectly,” Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship.”
Make a morning routine to give yourself instructions or targets to achieve for that day. Evaluate your day in the evening. How much you did, what was missing, what failed, what you need to do to make it work, etc.
Usually, it is tough to stay motivated and positive when we are facing a lot of setbacks. Use these exercises to stay positive in negative situations.
